ALMOST UNDER THE VOLCANO

or an Englishwoman living in Mexico

how?

How am I going to blog?

The first thing you have to know is that I cannot use my husband’s name as he would be mortified to think I am writing a blog: so I cannot use my name as it is very vaguely linked to his name.

So he will be th (the husband) and my son is ts (the son) and my daughter …ah you’re getting the hang of this - so th, ts and td will appear in this blog from time to time but they are usually five and a half thousand miles away in England so I won’t be writing about them very much …except that td is here at the moment with tf - sorry - two friends.

But I cannot refer to any of my friends here by their real names either because I don’t want to embarrass them or for them to stop being my friends, and I cannot refer to my friends in England by their real names because I don’t have any friends in England - not true really - I have one or three - and they know who they are - so I am going to be using pseudonyms, which may get rather confusing if I forget who’s who.

And I expect I will be referring to all sorts of famous people all the time but of course I will be using their real names and if you have never heard of them you can look them all up in who’s who or wikipedia - (you must have heard of wikipedia) which is especially useful if they are no longer alive.   And even if they are.

And I may lapse into american english.    I apologise already for this but living surrounded by lots of Americans it is sometimes easier to use their expressions to make myself understood.    And I forget and carry on using them occasionally in the presence of th, ts, and td, (and they get very irritated.)

And the whole reason for starting this blog is because of Malcolm Lowry, inspired by Eddie Mair and Eric Blair (no they’re not related).

At the moment I am just practising for a bit so I might not get it right.

Wow this is almost as exciting as buying a house in Mexico.
